Rules and Regulations Revised
Rule 1) Required while practicing and racing: neck brace, long pants, long sleeve shirt, or jacket, laced up shoe or boot, gloves, goggles or visor and helment. ( No sandals or Slip on's) Chest protectors are great and could become a rule next year. Wear one please!!!

Rule 2 ) No one is allowed on the track during the race if a driver needs assistance the assigned pit crew member may enter the track when race is stopped.

Rule 3 ) No reckless driving in pit area or anywhere on complex.

Rule 4 ) Anyone not lined up in the proper position may lose your position or may not be allowed to run at all. Please know when your class runs and your position. WE WILL NOT COME FIND YOU.

Rule 5 ) Fall out drivers must notify line up officials before race or as soon as possible. If you fail to do this you could loose your show up points.

Rule 6 ) No children under age 9 allowed in pits unless accompanied by an adult at all times.

Rule 7 ) Drivers you are allowed 3 minutes for break downs on the track. If you need 3 minutes and you need to leave the track you stop and tell an official then your time will start at the moment of breakdown. If you fail to notify an official the race will not stopped and you will not be allowed back in the race.

Rule 8 ) Any action made by another driver or his or her pit crew (physical or verbal) that could be taken as a threat will be approached by: removal from facility (temp or permanent, some or all points removed). If someone strikes an official or pit person, spectator they will be removed permanently never to return. ( Punishment will be decision of the officals)

Rule 9 ) Please do not have any grills in the pit area, this is a fire hazard the insurance will not cover this.

Rule 10 ) Absolutely no pets allowed on the premises (Unless needed for medical purposes with a doctor's documentation.

Rule 11 ) Rough driving, or to advance by rough driving will not be tolerated, and will be punished by decision of the officals.

Rule 12 ) Please keep a safe distance back from race track. Do not cross ropes, caution tape or fences these are there for your protection.

Rule 13 ) Do not block any safety vehichles in any way. (rescue squad, firetruck, first responders)

Rule 14 ) All lawnmowers must have rear fenders. The fenders must cover at least 50% of the right rear tire and as much as possible of the left. ( No fabricated fenders)

Rule 15 ) Cylinder head must be easily accessible in all classes for inspection purposes.

Rule 16 ) The numbers on the mower must be 6" numbers on both sides and on back of seat and made of a color that can be easily seen.

Rule 17 ) All classes must have tubes in the tires.

Rule 18 ) Mowers must have an air filter. ( This is to help muffle a fire in the carb)

Rule 19 ) All mowers must have a lawnmower transmission or trans axle. Mowers must have working reverse.

Rule 20 ) Drivers if you have a problem or a suggestion bring this up during the drivers meeting or catch an official after the race.

Rule 21 ) Points will be awarded to the mower.

Rule 22 ) If you sell your mower the accumulated points are not transferable.

Rule 23 ) Bumpers looks, sizes.and measurement are on now. Look at the picture here, or look on the home page in the pictures to see how to build them. (P/N HVM604235.)

Rule 24 ) Absolutely no hand throttles, finger throttles engine speed must be controlled by foot. ( except kids stock).

Rule 25 ) Points will be posted as they are accumulated. If you have a question please approach this promptly.

Rule 26 ) All mowers must have a shut off switch that will kill the engine if the driver is dislodged from the mower.

Rule 27 ) All mowers must have blades removed.

Rule 28 ) Absolutely no sharp edges that could prove hazardous to drivers or spectators. And again all parts must be securely bolted or welded. ( HOODS MUST HAVE ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF FASTNERS TO HOLD THEM IN PLACE DURING THE RACE).

Rul3 29 ) All exposed chains and sprockets must be properly covered. All drive line belts must have a sufficient amount of belt guides and supports to keep it on the pulleys. If your belt comes off twice you're out of the race!!!

Rule 30 ) All positive charges terminals must be covered with insulated cover or heavy tape and battery must be well secured.

Rule 31 ) Mowers are to be clean under the hood and outside so the mower can be properly inspected.

Rule 32 ) All glass needs to be taped up or removed. ( Except kids stock)

Rule 33 ) Tires must be lawnmower tires, no chains, no snowhogs, atv or kart tires.

Rule 34 ) Fuel must be stored in a safety can with mx 5 gal capicity.

Rule 35 ) All drivers allowed 1 pit person. Pit person must be at least 12 years of age.

Rule 36 ) Driver is responsible for his or her crew member. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUGS ON ANY KIND ALLOWED ON ANY COMPLEX!!!!!!

Rule 37 ) Fuel must be gasoline with no fuel additives. No alchohol,methonol,nitrous oxdie or any other fuel enhancers. ( 110 - 118 will be tolerated but randamly tested).

Rule 38 ) Entrance and exit to race track is to be kept open at all times.

Rule 39 ) Drivers may be tested on knowledge of flags and what they mean for you to do. Drivers must pass this test in order to race.

Rule 40 ) Drivers must be sixteen yrs or older. Under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their wavier the day of the race and must sign a new one ever race. Any one under 16 must pass a drivers test before they can enter the track.

Rule 41 ) No forced air egines. No turbos, superchargers and no velocity stacks!!!!!

Rule 42 ) Engines must have lawnmower carbs. No tilison or automoblie carbs.!!!!

Rule 43 ) Limit 2 classes per mower. Your mower will run in class that it was designed for and allowed to move up one class.

Rule 44 ) Inspections will usually open at 12noon and will close by 4pm. If you are not at the race by 3pm. thre will be penalities submitted.

Rule 45 ) Everyone, as you bring your mower through inspection please stay quiet. Keep engines quiet. Make sure that all paper work is signed and complete.

Rule 46 ) All drivers must attend every drivers meeting, at the race track and outside the races. If you do not attend these drivers meeting,we will not accept any excuses for your mower not meeting the rule spec.

Rule 47 ) No plastic wheel, front or back.

Rule 48 ) Mowers must have a deck. Deck may be simulated and may have vertical 90 degree plate (nerf 4" - 6" no higher. This rule does not apply to Kids Stock, Modified stock.




Flags:
GREEN: This flag, that race is under way. RED: The race is stopped. You must stop at the flag stand. BLACK: This flag is for driving infraction or equiptment violation, you must stop at the flagstand. BLUE\ORANGE\STRIPE: Driver needs to move to the outside so that the faster drivers can pass safely. WHITE: One lap to go. CHECHERED: You have finished the race.

Class Rules:
KIDS STOCK:

Rule 1 ) Mowers should be deliviered from the factory less blades.

Rule 2 ) Pulleys must be FACTORY ORIGINAL.

Rule 3 ) Ay replacement parts must be exact duplicates of the original part and must not offer any improvements in power or reliability over the stock part.

Rule 4 ) Deck wheels and rollers must be removed.

Rule 5 ) After mower is inspected the mower will be placed in impound and no other adjustments can be made.

Rule 6 ) Tire pressure can not exceed the tire manfactures max pressure.

Rule 7 ) 6" number on both sides of mower and back of seat.

Rule 8 ) Engine must not exceed 3,500 rpm and will be checked during inspection.

Rule 9 ) Mower must have kill switch in good working condition.

MODIFIED STOCK:

Rule 1 ) Pulleys can be changed on the driveline.

Rule 2 ) Exhaust can be changed but must terminate away from the mower that is safe for the other drivers and spectators.

Rule 3 ) A throttle pedal may be used ( no finger operated throttles) govenors may be removed.

Rule 4 ) Differential may be locked.

Rule 5 ) The front axle can be locked solid but not modified in any other way.

Rule 6 ) The mowers body may be modified but maintain stock appearance.

Rule 7 ) The seat must be mounted directly to the fenders.

Rule 8 ) The frame, wheel base, and width must be factory original.

Rule 9 ) Wheels and tires must be factory original with a max of 8" in the rear and a min of 6". Front is a max of 6" and a min. of 4". (tires must have tubes).

Rule 10 ) Engine must be as delivered from the factory ( no exceptions) a single cylinder flathead or overhead valve with a vertical crankshaft.

Rule 11 ) Mower must have 6" numbers on both sides of mower and on back of seat.

Rule 12 ) Must have working kill switch.

Rule 13 ) Must have simulated deck.

Rule 14 ) Mower must have front and rear bumpers (SEE BUMPER RULE)

LEGENDS:


55 and older. Age could be an exception if a slight phsical impairment is documented. (with an impairment this is the only class you can run).

Rule 1 ) All mowers must have vertical shift single cylinder engine flathead or overhead valve all modifications legal(no tilison carb. ) Must have an air filter.

Rule 2 ) Mower must have foot holds that are made so the foot will not become entangled in a rollover.

Rule 3 ) Driveline can be modified from the engine to rear wheels but must be made of lawnmower parts. Belt must have enough guides and supports to keep it on the pullys. If your belt comes off twice, you are out of the race.

Rule 4 ) Frame clearance must be a min. of 2" from groung to frame. This 2" clearance should be from front to back.

Rule 5 ) Must have simulated deck and the clearance must be a min. 2".

Rule 6 ) The bottom of the seat pan may be moved 2" below the top of the tires and also the center line of the seat may be moved to the left 2" of the center line of the frame.

Rule 7 ) Must measure 42" or less from outside tire wall both front and rear.

Rule 8 ) Must measure 60" or less from center of front axle to center of rear axle.

Rule 9 ) Wheels can be aluminum or steel.

Rule 10 ) Wheels must be max.8" and min. of 6" in the rear and a max. 8" and min of 6" in the front. Wheels must be same size on both sides of axle. ( no staggering tires)

Rule 11 ) Mower must have a battery operated on board starting system in good working condition and operated by push button.

Rule 12 ) Tires must have tubes.If you are using steel wheels.

Rule 13 ) Mower must have 6" numbers on both sides and back of seat.

Rule 14 ) Must have working kill switch.

Rule 15 ) Exhaust is open and must terminate in a manner that is safe for drivers and spectators.

Rule 16 ) Mowers must have front and rear bumpers (SEE BUMPER RULE)

Rule 17 ) Mower must use 100% of factory original frame.

Rule 18 ) Mower must have working clutch and brake. Clutch and brake are subject to pre and post race inspection. (REVERSE IS OPTIONAL)

Rule 19 ) CENTRIFUGAL CLUCTHES ALLOWED

Rule 20 ) Mower must have lawnmower style rear fenders. (IF YOUR FENDERS ARE FABRICATED, THEY MUST HAVE A LAWNMOWER STYLE APPEARENCE). Fenders must cover at least 50% of rear tire and as much as possible of left.

Modified V-twin 30 cubic inch


Rule 1) Mower must have simulated deck. Deck must have 2” min. deck to ground clearance.

Rule 2) Frame must have min.of 2” clearance frame to ground and must have this clearance from front to back.

Rule 3) Mowers must have footholds made so that the foot cannot get entangled in a roll over.

Rule 4) Exhaust design is open, but it must terminate away from the driver and spectators.

Rule 5) Driveline may be modified from the engine pulley to the rear wheels and must be made entirely of lawnmower parts. Belt must have enough guides and supports to keep it on the pulleys. If your belt comes off twice you are out the race.

Rule 6) Front axle and steering may be reinforced, substituted or fabricated. Fabricated axles are subject to inspection for safety.

Rule 7) Wheels and tires must be same size on both sides of axle (no staggering tires). With with a max. Of 8” and a min. of 6” in the rear and a max.of 8” and a min. of 6” in the front.

Rule 8) Wheels can be made out of aluminum or steel.

Rule 9) CENTRIFUGAL CLUCTHES ALLOWED

Rule 10) Mower must have working clutch and brake. Clutch and brake subject to pre and post race inspection. REVERSE IS OPTIONAL

Rule 11) Mower must measure 42” or less from outside tire wall to outside tire wall.

Rule 12) Mower must measure 60” or less from center of front axle to center of rear axle.

Rule 13) Mower must have a battery powered on board starting system in good working condition and push button operated.

Rule 14) Engine must be a vertical shaft V-twin manufactured for lawnmower use. All modifications legal. (No tilison carbs.).

Rule 15) Must have lawnmower style seat. The bottom of the seat pan can be moved 2” below the top of the tires and the center line of the seat can be moved left 2” of the center line of the frame.

Rule 16) Must have 6” numbers on both sides of mower and back of seat.

Rule 17) Tires must have tubes.IF YOU USE STEEL WHEELS

Rule 18) Must have a kill switch that is in good working condition.

Rule 19) Mower must have front and rear bumper (SEE BUMPER RULE)

Rule 17) Mower must have 6” numbers on both sides of mower and back of seat.

Rule 18) Mower must have front and rear bumpers (SEE BUMPER RULE)

Rule 19) The cylinder head must be easily accessible for inspection purposes.

Rule 20) Must have rear fenders lawnmower style(IF YOU HAVE FABRICATED FENDERS THEY MUST HAVE LAWNMOWER STYLE APPEARENCE) fenders must cover at least 50% of right tire and as much as possible of left.

Rule 21) Must have kill switch that is good working condition.

Twin Cylinder Flathead.


Rule 1) Mower must have simulated deck and must have 2”deck to ground clearance.

Rule 2) Mower must use 100% of lawnmower frame and have a min of 2” ground to frame clearance and must have this from front to back

Rule 3) Exhaust design is open but terminate in a way that is safe to other drivers and spectators.

Rule 4) Mower must have lawnmower transmission and working clutch and brake. Clutch and brake subject to pre and post race inspection.

Rule 5) Front axle and steering may be reinforced, substituted, or fabricated. Fabricated axles are subject to inspection for safety.

Rule 6) Wheels and tires must be the same size on both sides of axle. (No staggering of tires). Wheels can be a max of 8” and a min of 6” on the front and a max of 8” and a min of 6” on the rear.

Rule 7) Wheels can be made of aluminum or steel. Tires must have tubes.(IF YOU USE STEEL WHEELS)

Rule 8) Centrifugal clutches Allowed.

Rule 9) Mower must have front and rear bumpers (SEE BUMPER RULE)

Rule 10) Mower must measure 42” or less from outside tire wall to outside tire wall.

Rule 11) Mower must measure 60”or less from center of front axle to center of rear axle.

Rule 12) Mower must have a battery operated on board starting system in good working condition and must be operated by push button.

Rule 13) Mower must have a twin cylinder flat head with a vertical crankshaft. All engine modifications legal. No tilison carbs. Must have air filter.

Rule 14) Mower must have a lawnmower style seat and the bottom of the seat pan can be 2” below the top of the tires. The center line of the seat can be moved 2”to the left of the center line of the frame.

Rule 15) Mower must have 6” numbers on both sides of mower and back of seat.

Rule 16) Cylinder heads must be easily accessible for inspection purposes.

Rule 17) Mower must have lawnmower style rear fenders. Fenders most cover at least 50% of right tire and as much of left tire as possible.(IF YOUR FENDERS ARE FABRICATED THEY MUST HAVE A LAWNMOWER STYLE APPEARENCE)

Rule 18) Must have kill switch that is in good working order.

Stock Single Cylinder Overhead Valve Age 13& up


Rule 1) Mower must have simulated deck. Deck must have a min of 2” deck to ground clearance.

Rule 2) Mower must use 100% of factory lawnmower frame. Frame must have a min of 2” frame to ground clearance and must have this clearance front to back.

Rule 3) Mower must have footholds that are made in a way that the foot will not become entangled in a rollover.

Rule 4) Exhaust design is open but must terminate in a way that is safe for the other drivers and spectators.

Rule 14) Engine must be a stock vertical crankshaft single cylinder over head valve. No modifications allowed. Must have stock air filter and stock appearance.

Rule 15) Mower must have a lawnmower style seat. Seat can be 2” below the top of the tires and the centerline of the seat can be 2” to the left of the centerline of the frame.

Rule 16) Mower must have 6” numbers on both sides of mower and on back of seat.

Rule 17) Cylinder head must be easily accessible for inspection purposes.

Rule 18) Mower must have lawnmower style rear fenders and must cover at least 50% of right tire and as much as possible of the left.(IF YOUR FENDERS ARE FABRICATED THEY MUST HAVE A LAWNMOWER STYLE APPEARENCE)

Rule 19) Mower must have front and rear bumpers (SEE BUMPER RULE)

Rule 20) Mower must have kill switch in good working condition.

Modified Overhead Valve.


Rule 1) Mower must have a simulated deck. Their must be a min of 2”deck to ground clearance.

Rule 2) Mower must use 100% of factory lawnmower frame. Frame must have a min of 2” frame to ground clearance. Frame must have this clearance front to back.

Rule 3) Mower must have footholds made so that the foot will not become entangled in a rollover.

Rule 4) Exhaust design is open but must terminate in a way that it is safe for the other drivers and spectators.

Rule 6)Engine must be a verticle shaft v-twin and be manufactured for lawnmower use.Engine my use tilison or single or twin mikuni carbs and must have air filters.

Rule 7)Exaust design is open but must terminate ia way that is safe for the drivers and spectators.

Rule 8)Wheels can be made of aluminom or steel but if you use steel wheels they must have tubes.

Rule 9)Wheels and tires must be the same size on both sides of the axle front and back (NO STAGGERING TIRES OR WHEELS)There is a max of 8' and a min of 6' on the front and back.

BUMPER RULE FOR ALL CLASSES


Rule 1)The front bumper cannot extend past the outside edge of the tire when turned full lock left or right.

Rule 2) The rear bumper cannot extend past the outside edge of the tire ,but still must come to the outside edge.

Rule 3) The front bumper can be a total of 6" high and the rear bumper can be a total of 8" high.

Rule 4) The bumper can have a max of 3" between the tire and bumper

Rule 5) We still recommend the H.V.M bumper because of it's safty features.SEE BUMPER DRAWING AT TOP OF PAGE.

Rule 6) The bumpers can be made of aluminum,steel,square or round tubing.

Code of Conduct for USLMRA Members
The United State Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA) expects its staff, Local Chapter (LC) Presidents, racers, general membership, and volunteers to always act in a courteous, professional manner for the benefit and growth or lawnmower racing.
The USLMRA reserves the right to accept, deny, suspend or revoke the membership of any member, or place any member on probation, for any action(s) deemed detrimental to the sport of lawnmower racing. Any member under suspension, revocation or probation may be barred from participation in any Sta-Bil National Points race,
non-points race, and any sanctioned and/or affiliated Local Chapter racing events. Additionally, any person whose membership has been suspended or revoked may be barred from entry to any area at any race venue controlled by the USLMRA or local chapter. These areas include but are not limited to: the race track, pit area, and any area used for race administration purposes.
As stated in the USLMRA/Sta-Bil Racing Series Rulebook
(Sect. 2 par. 1), "The driver is responsible for the conduct of his/her guests and crew, even while on the race track." Should anyone attending a sanctioned event be found committing any detrimental act, that person will be removed from the premises, and the member driver will be held responsible for the conduct of that guest/crew member and will be subject to suspension or revocation. Revocation, suspension or probation period of membership may be enacted without prior notice, and will be at the sole discretion of, and by majority agreement, of the USLMRA National Executive Staff.
Actions or conduct that may lead to suspension, revocation or probation include, but are not limited to:
1. A conscious effort by a member to ignore or circumvent in any way, USLMRA rules as defined in the Sta-Bil Racing Series Rulebook.
2. Verbal assault, either public or written, of any USLMRA staff member, LC official, volunteer, or other USLMRA member.
3. Physical assault of any USLMRA staff member, LC official, volunteer or USLMRA member.
4. Persistent on-track violations, including, but not limited to rough driving, passing under yellow, failure to follow on track instruction.
5. Any conscious effort to undermine the integrity of the USLMRA, its staff, LC officers, volunteers and fellow members.
6. Any conscious effort to undermine the ability of the USLMRA, its staff, LC officers, volunteers and fellow members to conduct their activities at any race venue hosting a USLMRA or LC sanctioned event.
7. Any disruptive behavior, which, in the opinion of track officials, Local Chapter officers and staff and/or USLMRA staff, interferes with the orderly conduct of sanctioned and/or affiliated lawn mower races.
Any member of the USLMRA National Executive Staff may give reasons for suspension, revocation, or probation in writing, to all offenders, at his or her discretion.
Appeal of any suspension, revocation or probation will be handeled on an individual basis. However, the right to appeal may not be granted in every case. Any request for appeal must be submitted, in writing, to the USLMRA National Executive Staff, stating the specific reason(s) for the appeal. The National Executive Staff serves at the discretion of the USLMRA President. The USLMRA National Executive Staff is defined as Bruce Kaufman, Kerry Evans, and Manny Torres. Revocations will be considered permanent unless cause can be shown for reinstatement.
